Attended Emporia State University 1984-1989; Earned a Basketball Scholarship all four years; Played in the Sweet 16 NAIA in Kansas City in 1986; Earned District 10 Honors in 1988; had over 100 career wins during my four years as a member of the Hornet Mens Basketball team.

Earned my Bachelors Degree in Physical Education from Washburn University in 1992.

Earned my Master's Degree in Administration Educational Leadership from Southern Nazarene University, Tulsa, Oklahoma campus 2004.

Continued my Educational Classes at Fort Hays State University working on my District Level Certification 2007-2010.

Continuning educational classes at Fort Hays State University summer classes 2015.

Plan to continue working on my District Level Certification from Fort Hays State University as I need 14 hours to finish. 

 

 



Experience

This is the start my 19th year as a professional educator.

I grew up in a Farming community in Axtell, Kansas which is in Northeastern Kansas in Marshall County. My parents still own and operate the family farm.

I am a BIG RED FAN OF THE NORTH. Go Cornhuskers! There's NO Place Like Nebraska! My mother was born in Pawnee City, Home of Larry the Cable Guy!

I am a Denver Bronco's Fan.

I love the Colorado Mountains! I love to vacation in Colorado.

I love to attend Nebraska Football, Volleyball, and Basketball games in Lincoln.

 



Bio

Hello ~

I was born and raised in Denver, Colorado from 1965 to 1975. Our family moved to Axtell, Kansas in 1975 where I attended elementary, jr. high and sr. high school.

I graduated in 1984 from Axtell Public Schools. I earned All-State honors in football and basketball. I earned a Basketball Scholarship to Emporia State University from 1984-1988.

Transferred to Washburn University 1991-1992 earning my Bachelors Degree in Physical Education.

My first year of Teaching was in 1996 in Southeast Kansas.

Attended Graduate School in Tulsa, Oklahoma earning my Masters' Degree in Education Administration in 2004.

I began my Administration career in 2005 in Southwest Kansas.

I am currently 6-12 Principal / AD for USD 200 Greeley County Schools.

I am begining my 19th year as a Professional Educator in Kansas.

I have 4 wonderful children that keep me very busy.

My wife Jodi Lackey is owner of the Flower Shoppe in Tribune, Kansas. Jodi is also our Jr. and Sr. High School Cheerleading Coach.

As always, I am looking forward to another "Amazing" school year watching all of my children participate in athletics.

Addie Lackey is a Sr. @ Emporia State University and the starting point guard. If you log into Emporia State University athletice under womens basketball you can read all about her.

Thatcher Lackey will be a jr. @ Greeley County Schools.

Jasper Lackey will be a Soph. @ Greeley County Schools.

Jaci Lackey will be an 8th grader @ Greeley County Schools.

Once again, I look forward to working with so many wonder people here in Greeley County!
